Hello Dear Reader.

In the interests of full disclosure, and on the advice of my friend Boyd Valentine (not his real name), I have decided to try and profit - even if in a small way - from this blog.

Or, at least, for the blog to pay its own way.

You may have noticed that I have posted a few reviews of products (books and equipment) that might be of interest to investigators. Previously I'd just link to the Amazon page for the book but now, if you decide you like my review enough to order the book or whatever for yourself, I stand to make a whole 4% on your purchase through the affiliate links programme with Amazon.

Clearly I won't be retiring in the south of France any time soon but I'll be happy if every now and again I will have built up enough credit to purchase more investigative books for review and also for some giveaways.

The other addition is a 'donate' button at the bottom of the page. While the costs of running this blog are not high, every little bit helps as I often find myself stuck between that proverbial rock and hard place when it comes time to pay those (or in fact any) bills. Any funds generously donated will be put towards:

• Renewal of domain name
• Payment of hosting fees
• Purchase of cool books and gadgets for review
• Neato stuff for giveaways
• Stuffing down the g-string of my awesome stripper girlfriend
• Cool parties you're not invited to

I'm not expecting people to donate anything, however, if anyone appreciates my efforts and feels the need to do something with whatever is burning a hole in their wallets - mine is always empty.
