"It's not personal" my arse!

I received my first "fuck you" email in regards to an investigations job application I put in a couple of weeks ago.

Actually, they hated me so much they emailed the rejection twice.

Now I've been told that you can't take these things personally but when someone has looked at my application and had made a very conscious decision that I'm not good enough for them, how can you not?

It doesn't get any more personal that that!

To be fair, I didn't really want the job and put in the electronic application in some 10 minutes before it closed. Didn't really make much of an effort, I will concede, but then it was a crappy job involving working outside regular business hours and with some degree of risk of violence on the job.

Although that's not to say I wouldn't have taken in if an offer had been made and the conditions amenable.

By conditions I am, of course, referring to money.

So I got some auto-generated stock email that I was going to quote from but in a pique of righteous anger seem to have deleted them both.

Meh!

Anyway, I have another application in for a covert investigations role in another part of the country that I do want and will let you know how that goes. I described the position as "...spending a lot of time peeing in bottles in the back of a van, waiting for something to happen" to which one wit commented: "different city - same bottle".

How true.
